HELP FOR FAIRFAX COUNTY HOME BUYERS.  Fairfax
County homes are in a large county with many different neighborhoods in
moderate and luxury priced homes. Homes in Fairfax County towns of Annandale,
Alexandria, Falls Church, all inside the beltway, are on smaller lots with
good proximity to the Beltway or METRO Train. Farther out on the south side,
communities such as Centreville, Fairfax, Clifton and Lorton are closer
to Route 95 and a quick commute to the Pentagon, Ft. Belvoir and Washington,
D.C. Communities on the northern areas of Fairfax County such as Vienna,
McLean, Reston, Herndon, Oakton and Great Falls offer areas with smaller
lots. Homes in Oakton and Great Falls are offered on large lots. Expect
to pay a premium for homes on more than one acre.
METRO is available in Vienna, Dunn Loring in northern Fairfax County and in Springfield in southern Fairfax County. Most new homes constructed close to the METRO stations in Fairfax County and Arlington County have been town homes or condominium homes. These town homes are large by any standard and often offer a two car garage. Communities with homes close to METRO are in areas of Fairfax just outside the Washington Beltway, like the Kingstowne Village with over 3300 homes are within one mile of METRO. Homes in McLean and Great Falls are minutes from Georgetown, Reagan National Airport and the Pentagon. Tysons Corner, in Vienna/McLean is a primary employment center in Northern Virginia with important high tech companies and, of course, some of the best shopping in the entire Washington Metro area.
